If at first you don't succeed...

Last year we invited all stewards of any Friendship Sloop to participate in the Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta. Unfortunately, our line was void of the pageantry and romance created by the low freeboard, numerous set sails from varnished spars and salty characters at the helm of the Friendship sloop, so we're going to "try again".

The Corinthian Yacht Club of Marblehead, MA is proud to announce the 2013 Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta presented by Officine Panerai (www.panerai.com), the title sponsor of the Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge Circuit that takes place in the Mediterranean, Antigua, UK, Marblehead, Nantucket and Newport. This year's Corinthian Classic will be held August 10th & 11th. www.corinthianclassic.org  

• The racing is done in "Pursuit" format - unique, safe, fun - and will be sailed with NO Spinnakers
• Long reaching legs will be emphasized and beats will be minimal (Gentlemen do not beat.)
• Reasonable entry fee includes free mooring (First Come, First Serve)
• Unsurpassed social events including this year's feature speaker, James "Sham" Hunt
• The Classic Rating Formula will be the standard for all boats and we will assist anyone without a rating to easily secure a certificate
• The Corinthian Classic is an excellent event to be a part of and as an added feature, the Marblehead Maritime Festival will be in full swing (not to mention free moorings for the weekend).  Last year we had over 63 "Classic's" sailing Saturday and Sunday. You can expect that the Corinthian Yacht Club along with Panerai will put on a good show on and off the water for a very reasonable cost including free moorings (First come. First Serve.). The skippers bag is unbelievably good!  ; )

We encourage you to enter your Friendship Sloop. Our celebration of classic yachts is incomplete without the Friendship Sloop. This is an event you don't want to skip. Start planning now and tell a few friends - we don't know who we've missed.
