The Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta's Salute to Halsey Herreshoff
HALSEY C. HERRESHOFF Halsey Herreshoff is the grandson of the legendary "Wizard of Bristol", Nathanael Greene Herreshoff. More importantly, he is distinguished as the most active America's Cup sailor during the 12 Metre era. He served as a bowman, crew boss, or navigator in six campaigns and sailed in four America's Cup matches. A naval architect and marine engineer, Herreshoff has also contributed to the support of technology and management of many campaigns. He is also the curator of the Herreshoff Museum in Bristol, RI., and founder of the America's Cup Hall of Fame with the late Edward du Moulin. www.herreshoff.org We urge you now to enter this season's regatta and make certain that you make dinner reservations for what will certainly be a fascinating and entertaining evening with Halsey. Last years' event honoring Ted Hood was sold out. This year's Corinthian Classic will be held August 11th & 12th. It is an excellent opportunity to stretch your sea legs, put your beautiful boat on display, and mingle with those who share your passion. Instructions to enter can be found on our website at www.corinthianclassic.org. |
